MAGIC WOOD

Day one :

rain, rain, ... rain
So we wait in the cabin all day. Luckily the sun is there on day two.


By this time we met a lot of nice people who we will be climbing with the following days. Thanks goes out to Etienne ( I hope your foot is better by now and you sent' Sechuan'), Dan and the Swedish guys, Ryan and Katie, Raul and Sabina, ... for their company during this amazing week. Certainly check out Etienne's blog, a strong Canadian who is on a bouldering trip of one year. The link will be in the linx section. We'll surely run in to him in September or October in Bleau. Magic Wood is definitely the place to go climbing during the summer if you want more or less good conditions. You can also tell by all the pro's who we came across ; J.Kiehl, David Lama, Bernd Zangerl (friendly guy who we spent the afternoon with), ... .

Jan was going strong on the soft granite and was sending 7C's easily. Here in 'Supernova', classic 7C, once opened as 8B.

After a hard days climbing everybody gathers round the fire. Stories of bouldering in Squamish, Hampi, Albarracin, Bishop, Hueco, ... and also just talking shit.

I was glad sending some nice 7a's like Red Roses and Bosna Royal (picture)
Because of the bad weather at the end of the week some projects couldn't be finished. 'Dinos don't dyno' for me and the stunningly beautiful 'Coté Sechuan' for Jan. But we will be back in August to spent some more time in this really great bouldering paradise.
